Many patients are able to use their insurance benefits for acupuncture care at Good Health. Our team is happy to help verify benefits and submit claims on your behalf whenever possible.

Horizon BCBS of New Jersey Plans

Patients with Horizon BCBS of New Jersey plans are frequently able to use their benefits at our clinic through the BCBS BlueCard program. Because Horizon plans are issued out-of-state, claims are first processed through our local BCBS in Pennsylvania and then routed to Horizon BCBSNJ. While many Horizon plans do process as in-network, the final network determination is made by the insurance company once the claim is processed. Our team verifies both in-network and out-of-network benefits for Horizon plans whenever possible so patients understand their potential coverage.

• Motor Vehicle Accident and Worker’s Compensation accepted.

• HSA and FSA cards accepted.

• Secondary or supplemental medicare plans with acupuncture benefits accepted. (We do not accept Medicaid or Medicare.)

Insurance Verification

Before your visit, our team will attempt to verify your acupuncture benefits and review:

• Deductibles

• Copay or coinsurance

• Visit limits

• In-network and out-of-network benefits when applicable

Please note that insurance verification is not a guarantee of payment, and final coverage is determined by your insurance company once the claim is processed.

Claim Submission

We submit insurance claims promptly after your visit. In most cases, we will know how your plan is processing within 1–2 weeks after your first appointment.

Out-of-Network Benefits

Many patients have out-of-network acupuncture benefits even if we are not listed as an in-network provider.

If applicable, we are happy to submit claims on your behalf so you can receive reimbursement according to your plan’s benefits.

Diagnosis & Insurance Coverage

Insurance coverage for acupuncture is often limited to specific medical diagnoses determined by your insurance plan.

Common diagnoses that may be covered include conditions such as:

• Chronic low back pain
• Neck pain
• Headaches or migraines
• Joint or musculoskeletal pain

Acupuncture treatment is individualized, and many patients seek care for multiple health concerns at the same time. When appropriate, treatment may support both covered and non-covered concerns. Patients commonly come to Good Health for support with fertility, hormonal balance, stress reduction, sleep, and overall wellness.

Our team will review diagnosis requirements when verifying your benefits, and coverage is ultimately determined by your insurance company once the claim is processed.
